Have you ever thought about sharing the blessings you received from your family with a child that has no family? Zuma’s has a need for mentors for our upcoming six-week Experiential Learning Program. The program will be guiding At Risk Youth in many of the skills a child needs and usually gets from his or her family.Currently in our society, children removed from their homes have no-one in which they can confide, Zuma’s mentors fill that role as well as providing a positive example of basic social skills. All of this structure is provided through guided activities designed by our team of counselors.
Do you have 2.5 hours a week to dedicate to a child that is at risk of not completing his or her education due to behavioral issues? If you answered yes to this question, please contact Jodi at 303-346-7493 to sign up for our January six-week mentoring program. If you don’t have the time….possibley you can sponsor one of these kids for only $220.00 you will be providing 15 hours of experiential learning to an at risk youth, that is less than $18.00 an hour for this wonderful program involving counselors, assessors, mentors and equine therapy partners!
Zuma’s Experiential Learning Program will perform an initial intake assessment derived from input from primary care provider and school staff. This assessment will identify the specific needs for the child, an individual behavioral plan will then be prepared. The therapist and the mentor will work together for the six weeks to improve the issues the child is having.Upon completion of the program an exit assessment will measure the results of the programs objectives. Based on the results, a future treatment plan will be provided for the child’s ongoing growth.
Please consider giving what you may have received in your childhood to these at risk youth so desperate for a chance to succeed in our very competitive world.
